Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana was born in the municipality of Esplugues de Llobregat, located within the city of Barcelona, on July 13, 2007. To a Moroccan father (Mounir Nasraoui) and an Ecuadorian-Guinea mother (Sheila Ebana), he grew up in Granollers and Mataró. When he was seven years old, his family moved to the center of Barcelona, where he played for the youth team of the C.F. La Torreta football team, where he was noticed by scouts of FC Barcelona that same year when he scored a hat-trick in a match organized against the Blaugranas, who soon joined La Masia. There he developed so quickly that he had barely started playing for the under-19s, which was when Xavi, Barcelona's first team coach at the time, asked the boy to play in April 2023. He made his debut at just 15 years, 9 months and 16 days in a 4-0 victory over Real Betis, thus becoming the youngest player to represent Barcelona's first team. After the excellent 2022/2023 season, Lamine remained in the first team and became increasingly influential and an important part of the squad. In the 2023/2024 season he set a series of records. At international level, he was called up to represent the Spanish national team where he started against the Croatian national team in the European Championship, at 16 years and 338 days. Lamine Yamal still plays for FC Barcelona where he stands out for his ability to put pressure on opponents, especially for his creativity and his versatility in playing in various positions on the pitch.
To get to where he is today, Lamine Yamal has had an impressive career path, marked by early talent, hard work and well-seized opportunities.
